The Phoenix Foundation hail from Turku, Finland and plays rough yet catchy punk rock – influenced by such bands as Political Asylum, HDQ, Leatherface, Moving Targets and Hüsker Dü.

The band was formed in the winter 2002 and by the Summer they had already recorded their first 7”. This record caught everyone’s attention with the awesome packaging, which was a one-sided record on white vinyl in a silk screened cloth cover.

Labels all around the world became interested in the band immediately after they had heard the 7”, and the band finally settled on putting their debut long player out on two great underground punk rock labels - Newest Industry in the UK, and Combat Rock Industry in Finland (who also released the 10” version). The debut album was followed by a short European tour together with the amazing Finnish hardcore punk band the Stakeout.

In November 2003 the band went to a studio for the third time and recorded two new tracks for a split 7” with Red Cabaret (released by Boss Tuneage, Passing Bells, Vacos Brothers and SUPO-records) and four tracks for a split 12” with Storm The Tower. All the new tracks were also compiled onto a MCD on Newest Industry in the UK, and Snuffy Smile in Japan. In the summer 2004 the band did their second European tour, which was soon followed by another minitour in the UK.
