The Phoenix Foundation Music TV
The Phoenix Foundation is the name of several organizations today. The most legitimate is the band that was formed in 1997 out of New Zealand. They got their name from the late 80′s TV show MacGyver staring Richard Dean Anderson. The people he worked for called themselves the Phoenix Foundation.
The most noble is the phoenix foundation for homeless children.
The band is still touring. Although they are not well known in the United States, they are very well known in their native New Zealand and around Europe as well. They have songs like I love you awesome and hit albums such as the phoenix foundation pegasus and horsepower to name only a couple. Here is a video so you can get a taste of what they sound like.
I am particularly happy to announce that there is serious talks going on about making a MacGyver feature film. It is still a ways off targeting 2013. There hasn’t been a made for TV movie since 1994. I am not counting the almost funny MacGruber movie of a couple years ago.
Richard Dean Anderson may play an older MacGyver today or they may cast a young actor and do a reboot of the franchise. This seems unlikely since Anderson made the character what it is. But then again, Shatner seemed to be Kirk but the Star Trek reboot was very successful with a new Kirk.
Once again the Phoenix Foundation out of Los Angeles will be needing MacGyvers help.
I seriously hope that it is the older Anderson in the part. This can be a big success just like Sean Connery was in Never Say Never Again, where the premise was luring the old super spy out of retirement.
Check back over the months as we keep an eye on the latest developments of the return on this iconic franchise. We have our hearing machines all set up. After all we would know, we are the Phoenix Foundation dot info and we should be able to hire Mac now that he has stopped traveling off world in the Stargate.
